Easter delays at the Mont Blanc Tunnel
Heavy traffic expected to make long tailbacks
The Haute Savoie prefecture have announced that there will be long delays starting today, through the Mont Blanc Tunnel into Italy.
Tail backs are expected to be long, meaning several hours queuing on the road leading to the tunnel. Heavy vehicles over 7.5 tonnes have been suspended from using the tunnel this weekend, but traffic is still due to be extremely busy.
The prefecture are advising that travel should be avoided during 10:00 - 21:00 today and 07:00 - 17:00 on Friday.
