The Musiques en Stock festival has been running for 16 years in Cluses on the way to Morzine. That's all set to change this summer for the 17th edition.

Cluses town hall announced that they will no longer be subsidising the event in December 2016. For a while, it looked as though that might have been the end to this incredibly popular music festival.

Musiques en Stock has been pulling in crowds of around 10,000 per night with headline acts over the last few years including Stereophonics, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, John Butler Trio, Tricky and The Dandy Warhols to name a few. Primal Scream were due to play last year but had to pull out at the last minute after their lead singer got injured.

The event is now back on, and organisers have confirmed that it's moving to the Thermal Park in Saint Gervais, combining with local festival organisers Les Indezikables. At this new location and with this new partnership they hope to develop the festival in future years, with a view to expanding to include cine-concerts, exhibitions and other cultural aspects.

This summer the festival will have the not-so-catchy name of "Festival Les Indézikables Musiques En Stock" but going forwards it's expected that the two will combine into something a little more memorable.

Headliners and other acts are starting to be announced on their facebook page, with the first confirmed date on 30th June. Acts for 1st July 2017 will be announced on Monday 22nd May.
