Hike the Alps without leaving your couch
Google maps famous routes of the Pays du Mont Blanc
The Community of Communes of the Pays du Mont-Blanc (CCPMB) in association with tech giant Google, have mapped 20 walking trails across the 10 communes of the region.
The project has been ongoing since early 2017, with CCPMB members capturing the routes with Google's 3D mapping cameras. "For many years now, we have been working on upgrading hiking trails within the CCPW," says Yann Jaccaz, Vice President in Charge of Trails within the CCPMB. "We seized a new opportunity by signing this partnership with Google. Thanks to the work of our agents - who have surveyed the terrain with their 3D camera to photograph our landscapes from every angle - we can now broadcast images of our territory around the world."
