Chamonix's Parc de Loisirs and Les Planards beginner ski area was purchased earlier this summer by a group of investors and they've got a 30 year plan to redevelop the site.

Les Planards is home to the year round alpine coaster, numerous water slides and rides for children as well as a beginner ski area with a chair lift and a couple of drag lifts.

In an interview with local newspaper Le Dauphiné, Julien Patty (one of the new joint-owners, vice president of the ski club in Chamonix and founder of Deep Nature Spa group) said that the plans include changes to the pistes, upgrading the lifts and increasing the capacity for artificial snow production.

The ski developments would allow the site to host more international events, and on top of this they'd also like to host concerts at a year-round restaurant on site.

The rest of the investors and team behind the purchase are all seasoned professionals in the leisure management field, and promise to reinvest all the profits straight back into the business.
