The Virgin Strive Challenge started in 2012 to raise funds for Big Change, a UK charity that helps young people thrive in life. The fifth edition of the challenge took participants from Sardinia all the way to the summit of Mont Blanc.

Branson, along with his son Sam and a team of 12 others, posed on the summit on Saturday. This brings to a close the 2,000km Strive Challenge which saw the 68-year-old trek, bike and climbing across Western Europe. Before arriving in Chamonix, the team undertook four days of cycling and two of kayaking in Sardinia, a five-day hike in Corsica, another five-day cycling stage from Monaco to Tignes, and a five-day hike between Tignes and Chamonix. Other participants joined them along the way, but only the core team of 13 took on the climb of Mont Blanc.
