Chamonix's high mountain rescue team are looking for witnesses to help them find a missing Taiwanese man who was last seen at the Cosmiques refuge on 7th April.

Two of our colleagues saw the man arrive at Geneva airport last Friday morning, asking for a transfer to to take him to 'Mont Blanc.'

It appears he then headed straight up to the Aiguille du Midi and on to the Cosmiques Refuge at 3613m, where he spent the night. The refuge manager recognised him and told Le Dauphine that he believed the man must have got up early to make a summit attempt on Mont Blanc, via the 3 Monts route, but was not heard from again after that.

The PGHM have said that he was carrying a green backpack with large pockets and a large camera. Anyone with any information about the man's whereabouts should contact the PGHM on +33 (0)4 50 53 16 89.
