Former winter olympian Jonas Devouassoux announced his retirement in a statement on Facebook on Wednesday, June 20th.

"So that's it, my decision is made, I will not be a top athlete next season," the statement read. After eight years of ski cross, and 15 years skiing in total, the Chamoniarde says he can no longer find the desire to hurt himself, and will not compete on the 2018/19 ski cross circuit.

Devouassoux's career highlights include a first place finish in the 2013/14 Ski-cross World Cup in Nakiska, Canada, and representing France in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
