It's getting hot in here at Chamonix's Step into the Void

Temporary closure of the attraction Friday

Step into the Void, the glass box hovering over a 1000 metre drop at the top of the Aiguille du Midi, will be closed tomorrow so that a heater can be installed in the waiting room.

It's been exceptionally cold here in Chamonix this week, and not surprisingly it's a heck of a lot colder up at the top of the Midi at 3,842 metres above sea level.

Although you are given slippers to walk into the attraction, waiting to go in has been rather unpleasant and chilly experience, so Compagnie du Mont Blanc are installing a heater up there.

It's anticipated that the work will be completed by late tomorrow afternoon, with the attraction re-opening on Saturday.
