Favourite destinations

The Alps is the ultimate destination for me, with unbeatable snowsports in the winter and even more to offer in the summer! Whether you want an active holiday full of adrenaline hits or to relax in beautiful alpine pastures with a cool beer, Chamonix is a difficult place to beat.

Travel inspiration

Since living in the Alps, I've come across lots of people who have travelled the world on a bike and I would love to do the same! For me, cycling is the single best way to discover a new destination at a perfect pace which allows you to move from town to town and village to village in a short space of time and really take in and enjoy your surroundings. It also means you can sample as much local cuisine as you like in the interest of 'fuel'!

Memorable travel experience

Travelling around California was a fantastic experience, with so many awesome activites to enjoy in a great setting, like surfing right outside the city of San Fransisco, wildlife spotting on the Motarey coastline and hiking in Yosemite National Park. Climbing Half Dome by the exposed cable ladder on the domed side was particularly memorable and one of the best hikes I've done. Possibly only beaten by the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, a basic 6 day mountaineering route on glaciers at over 2500 metres, camping in all sorts of settings from alpine pastures to snowy glaciers.

Destination checklist

I like to see destinations on foot or on a bike - I love to go on holidays where I can cycle or walk through beautiful and interesting settings to really get a feel for a place. I'm not always on the move though! I also look for somewhere where I can relax and enjoy great food and drink.

Sports & activities

I'm generally up for trying most outdoor activities that are on offer! I did a stand up paddle board tour whilst on holiday in Mallorca last year which was fantastic and I'm always keen to get out on the water, up into the mountains and out in the countryside!
