Chamonix Apres Ski Report: 23rd January 2009
After a few weeks without a snowflake in sight there was plenty of reason to celebrate this Monday night when the heavens opened and loads of glorious powder rained down upon us and as always Chamonix had a plethora of locations for us to celebrate in!
I opted to for an MBC start to my week with half price chicken wings !If you're not familiar with Chamonix and you like the idea of good food, credit crunching prices and home brewed beer then MBC is the place to visit!
If you're looking for a more girly option however there is of course, as I have mentioned before, ladies night at Monkey on Monday where you can whittle away the night sipping as much champagne as a girl could possibly want for just €5.
As tempting as the offer of champagne is I had big plans for the next day and a trip to Courmayeur in the works so I opted for the slightly more sober option of 2 for one cocktails at Chambre Neuf (between 8 and 10pm ) and then headed to bed.
The next morning we were on the road early on a mission to blag some fresh tracks in Italy. The snow was still falling thick and fast,visibility was poor and our lack of snow tires was becoming more and more evident! It seemed our epic day of powder was in danger of becoming a write off! We soldiered on however and my god was it worth it! We emerged from the tunnel into a whole new world! Blue skies, bright sunshine and heaps and heaps of powder and barley anyone there to have to share it with!
Needles to say that evening we were in need of a good bath, a long massage and a few new limbs! Luckily for us Kahiki was on hand to ease us through our aches and pains at Bar'd Up. Kahiti brings with him a mixture of soothing acoustic melodies all the way from Tahiti.
With the snow set continue , there will be plenty of excuses to carry on partying so here is a list of nights to look out for in the coming week:
