Les Ecuries de Charamillon Restaurant, Le Tour

Great food & good value on the slopes at Le Tour

Located underneath the Autannes chairlift at Le Tour, beside the Chatelet piste, this restaurant is one of the best mountain restaurants in the resort.

Serving a simple but delicious menu of salads, local specialities, daily specials and desserts the food is all freshly prepared and well presented. The salads are big enough to satisfy as a main course and come with plenty of colour and flavour. The croutes are a favourite with the majority of diners, with different options such as goat's cheese, chanterelle mushrooms, ham, egg, etc. The meat dishes come with plenty of side vegetables and look far more special than the price suggests.

Service is friendly but can sometimes be a little slow due to demand; they are always busy so be sure to book a table in advance and be prepared to succumb to a leisurely lunch!

The restaurant is also a "gite", which means that you can book a room for the night in hostel-style accommodation.

You must call them to reserve a table or a bed.

Visitor comments

  • "Great little restaurant on the slopes with a good outside seating space (limited), but brilliant when the sun is shining. There are also spaces inside when the weather is not so good. Very good homemade food, particularly good desserts and wonderful service." - Trip Advisor
  • "Superb French food half way up the mountain. All other food at Chamonix ski areas is overpriced and really poor quality. This restaurant is a gem. The food is not only delicious but very reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you go in the busy season book a table for lunch or you may not get one it's so popular." - Trip Advisor
  • "We had an excellent meal here. We had been in for coffee a couple of times and decided to have lunch one day after seeing the massive portions. We had 3 different meals and we all thought they were either very good or excellent. The young lady who works there is always polite and friendly. Service is attentive. " - Trip Advisor
