Idris Skis, Servoz

Award winning recycled, handmade skis

featured in Shops & boutiques Updated

Idris Skis is a unique, 1 man business who make skis from frecycled wood right here in the Chamonix Valley.

They've won awards for their eco-friendly skis and have them available for testing in a number of outlets in Chamonix.

Every pair of Idris skis is crafted by hand. We use renewable, recyclable materials wherever we can, and we source everything from nearby to reduce emissions. We don't like synthetic materials so we use locally grown oak rather than plastic for our topsheets and sidewalls, and bamboo for binding reinforcement. We also think that skis should last, so ours are designed with thicker bases and edges for longevity.

When it comes to performance we're just as uncompromising. We've been building skis for years, and we take our time finessing each new design to ensure every pair of Idris skis delivers an exceptional skiing experience, whether you're carving up the piste or laying fresh tracks in powder.

We're currently hand making five different shapes: Lynx, Chamois, Bouquetin, Kamoshika and Renard, and when we need a break from making skis we create furniture from retired skis.

Idris. Better performing skis, better for the environment.
