About Adult Ski Lessons in Chamonix

All you need to know about Ski Lessons

Chamonix has a great choice of Ski Schools and Private Ski Instructors who can also take groups of people or individuals on ski lessons.

Book My Ski School

Chamonix offers beginner and intermediate skiers plenty of choice, from its nursery ski areas to its gentle slopes where you can grow in confidence. Ski instructors will be able to help assess your current level and match you to the most appropriate lesson for your ability, experience or interests.

What to wear skiing

The key items to bring with you, along with the obvious ski jacket, ski trousers, helmet and sunglasses, are as follows:

Helmet
Wearing a helmet in ski lessons is strongly recommended, but not a legal requirement.

Layers
Weather on the mountain can change pretty quickly, and you are much better off wearing layers of thinner items as opposed to a big, bulky jumper. Try thermal tops and leggings, fleeces and hoodies.

Socks
A variety of socks ranging in thickness, it may sound weird but in our experience hire boots can be quite painful with the wrong socks.

Sun cream
Even when it’s cloudy the sun here can (and will) still get you, and don't forget the underneath of your chin as the sun reflects off the snow too. Don't forget a lip salve with an SPF.

Why book ski school / ski lessons?

The quickest way to either learn from new or get better at skiing or snowboarding, is to learn from a professional, in a ski or snowboard school. A qualified instructor will have spent years learning about the best ways to make the most of your time on the hill, whilst making sure that you are safe and having fun. You will learn quicker with an instructor, without picking up bad habits that friends or relatives may give you.
