The renowned ski school was founded in 1937 and was the first ski school in the Chamonix valley as well as being one of the first in France.
Today, with seventy years of experience, their instructors continue to teach with professionalism, pleasure and passion.
ESF Argentière played an important part in developing winter sports in the Chamonix Valley and continues to do so to this day. The fact that the national training centre for instructors and mountain guides, the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme, is in the Chamonix valley means that this school is still involved in changes and developments in skiing and mountaineering.
The school offers both group lessons to children and adults, in a range of disciplines. As well as the usual skiing and snowboarding, you can also experience cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, télémarking, off-piste and freeride; there is something for everyone. Their instructors are qualified to take clients to exciting and world-famous off-piste terrain such as the Vallée Blanche and other well-known routes.
The school also offers lessons for disabled skiers using a tandem ski with specially trained instructors. The equipment is provided by ESF.
ESF Argentiere have 120 instructors, speaking a range of languages including English, Italian, Spanish, Slovakian, German, Portuguese and Dutch.
