Following our last report that Chamonix had to put off the early opening of the Grands Montets, the Compangnie du Mont Blanc has since ordered some fresh snow and now promise to open the Grands Montets ski area on Saturday 10th of December

Unless you've been living in a cave or believing the lies in the Metro newspaper then you will know it's been dumping in Chamonix since the weekend and the forecast is for even more:

  • Tuesday expected snowfall towards 1500 m : 10-20 cm
  • Tuesday night expected snowfall towards 1500 m : 10-20 cm
  • Wednesday expected snowfall towards 1500 m : 30-40 cm
  • Friday more showers expected

That's a pretty promising snow forecast for the opening weekend in Chamonix - we'll be back to let you know the full extent of the opening and conditions up on the mountain after a weekend of riding the white stuff.

  • Lognan cable car
  • Plan Joran Chairlift
  • Bochard gondola
  • Tabé Chairlift
  • Marmottons Chairlift

Opening at 8:50am
Closing at 4:45pm
