Chamonix Snow Report: 11th March 2004
The skiing in Le Tour was great over the last couple of days even 3 days after it dumped. Fresh powder was there off the sides of the pistes and loads of fresh within easy hikes of the lifts. The cold is enough to keep the snow in good condition and yesterday Le Tour was pretty much the only place in the whole valley that stayed clear in the sun all day.
The rest of the valley had cloud and weak snow showers all day. Today the sun was back out and with yesterdays extra flurries added to a perfect setting.
It is no longer possible to ski back to the town (unless you want a rough ride) but nevermind. There are still 16km of 'crunchy' cross-country skiing open.
The PanoChamCam is now fully operational...we have some great images now available on the site webcams index. We have a few more on their way....
