A good dusting of snow overnight last night

There were a few excited tweets and facebook messages pinging around the valley last night as the first significant bit of snow in a long time was predicted, and then subsequently fell..

The snow line this morning has come down to around 2,585m (the top of La Jonction) and as you can see from the view down in Les Houches on our webcam and the photos above there's been a good old dusting along the length of the valley.

The forecast is predicting up to another 10-15cm of snow at the Aiguille du Midi overnight on Thursday with weather improving towards the weekend.

The Toussaint holidays (half term) starts on Saturday; the holidays run from 18th October to 2nd November, for which the Brevent lifts will be opening. Who knows there may even be a bit of snow up there.. there was this time last year!

As it gets closer to the start of the season, watch out for our dump alerts where you'll be able to get all the latest information about significant snow fall prior to you coming over here, as well as some handy recommendations for accommodation, transfers and ski hire.
