Chamonix Snow Report: 15th March 2004

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

It has been an incredible day today - the first one in a little while. The sky has been completely clear from first light to night time.

We were up the Brevent very first thing this morning. The weather station is installed but a minor technical hitch is holding things up. Still, coming down from the top on the pistes there was a light dusting of fine snow over everywhere.

We didn't ski much off-piste up there as we were only up for a couple of runs. The forecast is for more of the same - and temperartures have really increased.

It is no longer possible to ski back to the town (unless you want a rough ride) but nevermind. There are still 16km of 'crunchy' cross-country skiing open.

The PanoChamCam is now fully operational...we have some great images now available on the site webcams index. We have a few more on their way....
