First weekend of Grands Montets Opening

There was fresh snow fall on Friday night last week, pefrect timing for the weekend opening of Grands Montets. Saturday started off overcast with a few flurries of snow here and there, and then brightened up by the afternoon, with Sunday seeing glorious sunshine all day.

Aidan & Charlie sent us these pictures in from their trip up to GM on Sunday, and said that the conditions on piste were really good, all the way down to the bottom of the home run (Pierre à Ric piste). There was around 15cm of snow to the sides of the pistes, but a few ninja rocks were poking out here and there, so it would definitely benefit from another dump before the off piste is really something to get excited about.

The weather forecast this week isn't promising any fresh snow, in fact the outlook til Tuesday next week is sunshine all the way.

Grands Montets opens fully next weekend, and Les Houches is also going to be opening, but just for the weekend with special discounted prices on lift passes.
