Chamonix Snow Report: 21 January 2004
After yesterday's 'dump' the snow has been superb as expected. The avalanche alert has been reduced to 3/5 and a much larger proportion of the lifts and pistes have been open than of the previous few weeks. It is only the really top lifts which have had to remain closed due to high winds and avalanche risk.
What more can I write? It is difficult to go wrong at the moment wherever you are sliding it is more a question of catching the gaps in the clouds, though things were clearer this afternoon.
