Chamonix Snow Report: 26th November 2004
So what's the story? Well the sun is shining and whilst the temperatures remain cold the snow is degrading, despite last week's falls, with the overnight 0degree Isotherm expected at ~2400m. There is snow forecast over the weekend but we shall have to wait and see. It is expected to snow down to between 800 and 1500m on Monday.
Although the mountains are looking more wintery the cover is thin and probably not skiable below 2,500m. At the moment it seems snow depths are 50-70cm around 7,000m.
