Chamonix Snow Report: 27th December 2003

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

It hasn't snowed for a few days although the skiing has been good. The snow is reasonably heavy and the avalanche risk is considered to be high off-piste. Unfortunately the cross-country skiing trails are still shut as the conditions are mild in the valley floor.

What is good news is that a larger proportion of the lifts are open compared to a week ago. We are also expecting more snow fall starting during the daytime tomorrow.

Today's weather has been overcast, warmer than recent past, and damp - so snow is definitely in the air. Let's keep fingers crossed for this week being a big one!
