Chamonix Snow Report: 27th February 2004

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

BRRRR! It is cold. This is the biggest talk of the moment. Temperatures are expected to drop to -30C at the tops of the mountains tomorrow. There is also so forecast, however low temperatures and snow don't normally go together. I suppose it depends on the height you are talking about.

All the main ski areas are in good shape, with good coverage. Le Tour is getting a little thin towards the bottoms of the main area.

More snow is forecast from tomorrow.

It is no longer possible to ski back to the town (unless you want rough ride) but nevermind. There are still 16km of cross-country skiing open.

The PanoChamCam is now fully operational...we have some great images now available on the site webcams index. We have a few more on their way....
