Chamonix Snow Report: 28th January 2004

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

It has been snowing throughout the day today, and the cloud has been hanging off the mountains. Whilst there has been little wind it has been really cold at altitude. The weather has been gloomy. Luckily Chamonix has loads of other things to do once the poorer weather has set in: shopping, some great bars, a sports centre, or relax and indulge in a relaxation session or in one of the many good restaurants. Whatever is happening outside you can hardly loose!

The good news is that Chamonet's NEW ChamCam is in place - only the thing is we can't see anything but grey mist! Nevermind. At least from now on if it is sunny you can tell - don't forget it can be raining in the valley and blazing sunshine up top! Nice. We shall be putting up the images after a final bit of configuration - reckon by the end of the week.

Nonetheless, bar the high avalanche alerts, the poor vis, and the freezing cold, we can't remember when Chamonix last looked this good. When the sun does come out we should have some fun!
