Chamonix Snow Report: 5th December 2004

For the time being there is still not enough snow to merit any great updates. The start of the week's snowfalls where just the tail end of the main dump which fell mainly in Italy. Low pressure brought up moisture from the Med and dropped 50cm on the Italian side of the Alps and border areas, but failed to get sufficiently close to Chamonix.

Temperartures have been mild since the start of the week, with low pressure sitting over France bringing warm winds in from the south.

This weekend the ski areas have remained closed. Snow forecasts are eagerly awaited....
