Two Belgian Mountaineers Recovered Safely After Spending 2 Nights at 4400m
The two men are recovering in hospital after 2 nights in extreme conditions
On Saturday two Belgian mountaineers were rescued in a joint effort by rescue teams from Aosta Valley and the Chamonix Valley.
The two men had apparently been stranded on a route on Mont Blanc since Thursday last week on the Italian side of the mountain.
Deep snow meant they couldn't reach the Vallot bivouac and so they had no alternative but to overnight for 2 nights in freezing conditions.
On Saturday morning Chamonix's PGHM attempted to rescue the pair, but were hampered by adverse weather conditions. Finally the men were recovered and take to hospital where they were treated.
