| This is the view from the centre of Chamonix overlooking the main church, the Maison de la Montagne (guide office, ski-school, + High-mountain office) with the green copper roof, the start of many of Chamonix's main events such as the Marathon du Mont Blanc and The North Face Ultra-Trail, and in the background the peaks of the Aiguille Rouge ('Brevent/Planpraz/Flegere' ski area). Off-picture to the left is the Chamonix Tourist Office, and the town's Mairie (town-hall) is just edging in on the right-hand side. Also featured are our friends at Hotel Le Chamonix in the centre of the screen. The webcam is situated on the back of Chamonix's own Cinema Vox which shows current film releases including in original language - so they regularly have the latest from Hollywood in English - definitely worth considering a visit when the webcam is showing bad weather (the programme is on their website)! |
