Chamonix Snow Report: 3rd April 2004

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

The rain front arrived last night after several days of sunshine. The foehn winds were in previously and this was causing the snows to turn slushy. It is coming up for the end of the season so this is inevitable.

Nonetheless, according to the official sources there has been 25cm of fresh dumped on the tops of the pistes. This will require unofficial corroboration first thing tomorrow morning! We'll let you know as we can't see it from here.

It is no longer possible to ski back to the town.

The cross-country trails are now closed.

The PanoChamCam is now fully operational...we have some great images now available on the site webcams index.

We'll keep you updated - sign up for the Dump Alert! We only let you know about significant falls and you can unsubscribe at any time.
