About Chamonix Ski Pass Prices

Chamonix skipass prices vary based on ski area coverage, time of the season, and duration. There are also special rates for pedestrian passes and family ski passes. You can buy your ski pass online, directly via the lift-company, collect your ski passes in resort, or have them delivered.

You can buy your pass online but before you buy anything we recommend you check the weather forecasts on arrival and/or speak to your accommodation provider, who should be able to advise you of the best options. That way you avoid spending money if the weather will be inclement or on the wrong kind of pass for your needs.

There are three main types of 'Chamonix Ski Area' passes: the Mont-Blanc Unlimited (MBU) - full area pass, including neighbouring resorts; the Chamonix Le Pass local area pass, suited to beginners and short breaks; and the Rapid Card a prepaid, pay-as-you-go, non-consecutive multi-day loyalty pass.

The most popular ski passes are the 6 day Mont Blanc Unlimited passes which are suitable for most visitors to Chamonix

Other passes

Booking Cable-car Time-slots

At certain times of the year it is necessary to book your time slot on certain lifts, ahead of time. This includes the Aiguille du Midi (in peak holiday seasons) the Tramway du Mont Blanc in summer and the Grands Montets Top cable-car (in winter). When the online booking isn't available for either of these, you can still book in advance at one of the lift pass offices in resort.

Ski insurance

Prices shown above are without insurance, which you can add on when buying on line or at the Ski Pass Offices in the valley. E-gloo ski insurance covers you for rescue and evacuation (search and rescue costs), ski pass reimbursement (and ski lessons if unused) & offers additional benefits. It costs 3 euros per day for 1-5 days duration, or 18 euros total for 6-21 days duration.
