A fantastic addition to the Chamonix bar and nightlife scene, this welcoming family-run establishment opened in June 2015 and serves up an enticing selection of drinks and "A New Kind of American Food".
Bighorn Bistro is a family establishment through and through, run passionately by Susan, her children, family and friends. The front-of-house team, Hannah and Rhys, pride themselves on going the extra mile to provide a friendly and relaxed experience for their customers. Behind the scenes, Susan and Morgan are responsible for the operations and unique concept of Bighorn - an American-influenced restaurant, bar and café/bakery.
Inspired by a love of the Wyoming mountains mixed with the need for adventure that only Chamonix can offer, Bighorn bistro offers a unique experience for their visitors. The cosy and rustic mountain-style interior offers a warm welcome for mountaineers and skiers seeking sustenance, or casual passers-by.
Located in the social heart of the buzzing Chamonix Sud area, Bighorn is an equally great spot for a sunny afternoon drink in the summer or a cosy and warming apres-ski session in the winter.
At the bar you can choose from a large selection of craft beers on tap or by the bottle, from local breweries such as Big Mountain, Ibex, Two Hats and Sapaudia, to some of the best craft beers in the world. For the connoisseurs out there, this includes a selection from Wild beer co., Pophin, Amundsen, Northern monk, Brewdog and many more. If you can't make up your mind they sell Beer Flights (little boards of sample beers to taste) as well as Gluten Free Beer! Don't worry if you're just after a standard pint, Bighorn have you covered on that too with their Pilsner (Warsteiner) being one of the cheapest beers in Chamonix. You can find out what beers they have on draught at any point by visiting their profile on the Untappd app.
If you fancy something a little more unique, Rhys is the mastermind behind their selection of unique, hand-crafted, homemade cocktails which are served by their trained mixologists. Try one of their in house cocktails or ask them to make you something special, with access to one of Chamonix’s largest gin selections you may find yourself indulging in some rare tipples from all over the world.
And if all of Chamonix's mountain activities have given you an appetite, then grab a seat in the restaurant and enjoy their quality home-made style American fusion cuisine.
