Council Vindicated in Moulin Fire Incident

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

The local council has been cleared of all responsibility for the fire on Rue de Moulin back in February 2006. The fire, which broke out in small derelict building on the landmark street, gutted popular nightspots Cybar and Dicks Tea Bar. Bar de Moulin and the Queen Vick also suffered severe smoke and water damage and more than one year on all of the businesses remain closed. A board, advising the public that reconstruction is imminent, has gone up outside the adjacent properties so we can only hope that something will rise from the ashes in the not too distant future.
