Fire at the Novotel
During the course of the afternoon on Sunday at the Hotel Novotel near Les Houches, a fire swept through the restaurant destroying the building and leaving the hotel unusable. Although the fire was mostly contained within the restaurant the smoke damage was extensive and penetrated thoughout the rooms and corridors of the remainder of the hotel.
The 120 residents, none of whom were injured other than 3 who inhaled smoke, have been moved to the Hotel Mercure in Chamonix town, which is part of the same Accor hotel group.
