Green Light for Chamonix Wingsuit Jumps

Base jumping & wingsuit flights now permitted in extreme sports capital

featured in News & reviews Author Robin Deering, Chamonix Editor Updated

One year after Chamonix banned wingsuit jumps from lift accessible areas in the valley, following the tragic death of a Norwegian wingsuit jumper, Chamonix has now put an end to the ban permitting wingsuiting and base jumping in Chamonix.

Jumps from the recently discovered Brevent spot and also from the Aiguille du Midi are now permitted again, but under certain conditions.

From the 1st of June through to the 30th of September, Brevent wingsuit jumps are only permitted outside of the following hours 10:00 - 15:00, to allow for the continual practice of paragliding in the area.

Before each wingsuit flight, the jumper will need to contact the PGHM on +33(0)4 50 53 00 55

Further regulations can be found on information panels at each take-off site.

The rules for wingsuit jumps in Chamonix can be found here.
