Chamonix Municipal Elections will be held in March 2014, here's how to register as a voter - it's easier than you think!

To be eligible to vote in the Chamonix Municipal elections you must register before 31st December at the very latest, preferably earlier.

Local British and Finnish expats Jonas Smart and Minna Riihimaki have put together this helpful video explaining how to register as a voter >>

In brief you must be aged 18 or over, from a European Union country and living in the Chamonix commune. Simply present yourself at the Mairie (located in the Hotel de Ville opposite the tourist office in the centre of Chamonix) with the following items:
1. Passport or national identity card
2. Registration form, available from the Mairie or online here:
3. Justification of residence, such as a utility bill which should be no older than 3 months and in your full name.

Show these items at the desk on the ground floor of the Mairie and request your "carte electorale". Congratulations, you are now eligible to vote, both in local and European Parliament elections!

Chamonix has a thriving international community with residents from all across the world who have adopted Chamonix as their home town, if you consider yourself to be a Chamonix "local" then make your voice heard and vote locally.
