This weekend sees the start of the 2006 Magnus League Ice Hockey Tournament, in which the Chamonix Chamois will battle it out in 26 matches throughout the winter in pursuit of the winners' trophy. Their first match is an away game against Morzine-Avoriaz, this Saturday (9th) but the Chamois will host their first home match the following weekend (16th) against Rouen, last years French Cup winners.

Sporting a new line up this year, the Chamois are entering the tournament with a very strong team. An international bunch with players from Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia and of course, France, they are hoping that this will be their year.

Matches start at 8.30pm and are held at the Chamonix Ice Rink, behind the school. Tickets can be bought on the night and entrance costs €8 for adults, €3 for students/ 10-16 yr olds and the under 10's get in for free! It is also possible to buy a book of ten tickets for €60 or for those of you that are here for the season, a season pass can be yours for €100, ensuring that you and your friends won't miss any of the action of the 13-15 home games scheduled this winter.

A guaranteed great night out for the whole family, keep an eye on our “What's On” calendar for a full schedule of the home matches. Go Chamois!!
