New Cornu chairlift progressing well

Construction of the new Cornu chairlift is coming along a treat as the photo here shows (taken whilst we were paragliding over it no less, but that's another story!). The work has now reached a stage where a pretty spectacular vehicle was required to carry up the 30 tonne steel cable that will eventually support the chairs. Well beyond the capacity of a helicopter, a speciality 6x6 lifting truck was commissioned for the task (not to mention a driver with nerves of steel!). With impressive dexterity, somehow the driver managed to negotiate his monster truck up the gradients and hair bends of the Nants piste! Construction is well on schedule for completion in time for the start of season.
