New “Mulet” bus service

featured in News & reviews Author Helen McGrory, Chamonix Reporter Updated

This summer, a new “Mulet” bus service has been launched to cater for the more secluded areas of Chamonix and Les Houches that are not currently serviced by the main valley transportation system. An extension of the current Mulet buses, which have been offering free shuttles around the centre of town since 2005, the new Mulet minibus operates on an advance reservation basis in areas such as Les Moussoux and La Mollard in Cham and Coupeau and Vaudagne in Les Houches.

In order to book your Mulet, you must first of all pay a €10 subscription for a membership card and number which will then allow you free access to the service. You then make your reservation by calling Chamonix Bus (0450 53 05 55 – until 5pm) to let them know where and when you want to be picked up and dropped off. If you require a return journey then advise them of this at the same time. The minibus is also wheelchair accessible.

The service will operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday in Chamonix, and Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in Les Houches until September 2nd 2007.
