New Prarion gondola is well underway

The construction project to replace the old Prarion gondola in Les Houches is currently well underway. As you'll see in the photo, much of the base station has already been demolished with the steps and most of the facade now gone. Little clusters of rather sad old bubble cabines await their fate while the foundation posts for the new base station are sunk into the ground. A helicopter has been in overdrive flying cement up from the base of the Maisonneuve Chairlift and the project is currently 15 days ahead of schedule. Although the new lift will depart from the same spot as the old one, it couldn't be more different. It will be a very flash, ultra modern, 8 man gondola that will greet those of you who come to ski Les Houches this winter!
