Plane crash on Mont Blanc kills 3

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

A tragic accident involving a small Robin DR400 plane, in which the three passengers were all killed, occurred on Thursday afternoon. The passengers who were all French were on a scenic flight over the Mont Blanc.

Witnesses from just before the accident suggest that the plane was flying very close to the mountains, a little too close, and the most probable cause for the accident would see to be a sudden gust of strong wind.

One of the pilots had a mountain aviation licence. The passengers were not fare-paying.
