Passy Via Ferrata, Chamonix / Mont Blanc Valley

5hr experience with 2 to 3 hours climbing, age 10 upwards

featured in Guides & tours

A great activitiy for families and friends seeking something more challenging than just alpine hiking without the demand of the technical skill required in climbing.

This route is situated on a south facing cliff providing an incredible view of the Valley below. The route is made of varied passages with short vertical climbs and some footbridges made of cable and wooden beams. A great Via-Ferrata for those new to Via-Ferrata or those looking to enjoy the view of the valley of the Arve river and the Mont-Blanc massif.

Via Ferrata is a mix between hiking and climbing, where routes are built into rock faces with cables and ladders and other equipment designed to allow you to progress along the route in safety. Using a harness and 2 slings to attach yourself to a cable you can progress along a big cliff, clipped to the mountain and roped to your guide.

Although no real climbing ability is needed, via ferrata does demand a steady head for heights. It's an exciting thrilling experience!
