'Échappées Belles' or 'Beautiful Escapades' is France's most popular travel TV show, showcasing stunning destinations from all around the world. Its latest episode, shot in the Chamonix Valley, will be broadcast on France 5 on Saturday, October 20th at 20:50.

A film crew comprised of presenter Tiga, director Damien Pourageaux, assistant director Lisa and sound technician Yann travelled to Chamonix at the end of August. They stayed at Chalet Florence, a cosy traditional chalet just a 5-minute walk from the town centre. Its garden, with spectacular views of the Mont Blanc range, was the set of a very special shoot starring private chef Philippe Convers who cooked local specialities amidst owner Florence's organic vegetable patch. There is also a mazot here, a traditional storage shed which has been converted into a charming apartment for two people.

During their stay in the area, Tiga and her team visited Chamonix's most famous sights including the Mer de Glace and the Savoyard market in the neighbouring village of Servoz. They also tackled an adventurous route around the Aiguille du Belvédère with mountain guide Fleur Fouque, starting at Les Grands Montets, and climbed all the way up to the Gouter refuge.

TV star Tiga revealed how Chamonix has become one of her favourite destinations. She has come here on numerous occasions to film extreme sports for her other TV show, 'Riding Zone', but this time she was able to explore the valley's hidden summer secrets as well as its heritage and culture. Book your holiday in the Chamonix Valley and find out why she, and many other visitors, like it here so much!
