Earthquake in Chamonix
Did you feel the earth move last night?
A 3.3 magnitude earthquake was felt in Chamonix in the early hours of this morning.
According to the Swiss Seismological Service the earthquake struck at 01:30 this morning at a depth of 3.5 kilometres; relatively close to the surface compared to recents quakes in the area.
The epicentre was 11 kilometres north of Chamonix centre, but was enough to wake up a number of residents.
Thankfully earthquakes of this size aren't likely to cause any damage.
