Tabe chair lift to open at Grands Montets

One more chair & piste open for skiing this weekend coming

Compagnie du Mont Blanc have announced that an additional ski lift, the Tabé will be opening this weekend coming on 3rd & 4th December.

This short lift gives you access to the Coqs blue piste and the Plan Joran restaurant, which sits at the top of the ski touring trail coming up from the valley floor. Take a look at the Grands Montets piste map to see where it is.

The Lognan cable car will be open to pedestrians from 5th to 8th December with a round trip ticket costing €17.50 per adult.

Snow conditions at the top of the Grands Montets ski area are good, with around 150cm of snow already up there. Sadly the top cable car won't open this weekend coming, you'll have to wait until 9th December for that but then it should be open for the whole winter season.

Access to the Grands Montets upper cable car is included with any MBU ski passes, but not with a Chamonix Le Pass. You should definitely book ahead to reserve a place (from 9th December). At this time of year you can only do this in person at one of the ticket offices but when the season fully starts, you'll be able to do this online via the Compagnie du Mont Blanc website.

*update 7th December 2016

We've confirmed with the Plan Joran restaurant will now not be opening from 9th December. Due to technical reasons it will be opening in the middle of next week.
