Chamonix Activity Report: 15th July 2004

featured in Activity reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

A quick update of how things are going - we have hi-jacked the Snow Report! Do date the summer has been a little cool, there was some sunshine earlier on, but of late we were wondering if autumn had come early!

All that had changed over the last couple of days. Coinciding with the end of the World Climbing Championships, Bastille Day (14th July) celebrations and the return of the sunshine.

Tuesday 13th night was an absolutely mad party night which ranged all the way through beyond sunrise, and beyond lunchtime for a few, with the bars being given a late licence. Most of the action concentrated itself in the Rue des Moulins.

Yesterdays bank holiday and mild headache gave us the opportunity to head down to the pool for a couple of hours shut eye on a deskchair.

Other than that, were are planning our return to the outdoors and hope the blue-skies stay with us. We have bought our pool pass, have been trail-running, and the mountain-bikes are getting a good outing.

High season is shortly upon us.
