Whilst there are some of us who already have the New Years Eve ‘bah humbug’ and would rather stay in than head to the town centre for the annual fireworks and booze spraying at the stroke of midnight -for the rest of us who want to see 2015 in with a bang there’s plenty to choose from, just get your ticket’s first so you're not left stranded in the square!
Following the ‘bah humbug’ theme, Monkey Bar are holding a “Massively overhyped New Years Eve Party: get in a fight with your girlfriend, lose your keys, wallet, phone, get drunk and cry whilst someone vomits in your shoes..” (!) They’ve got No Way Jose Live until midnight, then DJ Sammy Senior.
Amnesia are going to be hosting their NYE party, tickets can be bought today or tomorrow in advance, take a look at their website for more information.
The Jekyll have the excellent electro-pop trio Melvil to ring in the New Year, whist Munster Bar also have live music and will be open until 5am and it's free to get in..
Across the Cham Sud square and it couldn't be more different - South Bar have DJ's Krimi and Skred banging out some Hip-Hop, Ragga, Breakbeat, Electro & Bass - that’s 3 euros on the door but if you really can’t face the walk to the Sud, then head straight to La Terrasse who are hosting this years NYE:LATE. 5 DJs will by rocking both floors with Joe and Corin mixing house and techno in the upstairs ballroom and Jimbo Sound, Mellow D and the Goldfinger in the party zone downstairs. Get in early though as from 23:45 it will be tickets only.
If you fancy a trek across town then MBC have a special celebratory menu and Rock’n'Roll tunes from Alexis Evans Trio from 9pm, followed by The Talysker and Matilove feat. Rolf and the Roublardz and its free all night.
If you really can’t face a night of hedonism then in Les Houches women's hockey team Chamonix Angels have organised a dance to prepare for their trip to Canada with you. So, the theme is “Canada". and there’s a special Canadian menu. Tickets available at Tourism Office from Les Houches, La Lucarne, Bureau Services , and also at Gouthé.
If food is your thing, then Hotel Aiguille du Midi has a special New Years meal. Chef Jean-Luc Dutrel sets out a gourmet tasting menu and there are live musicians and a dance floor for partying until 2am. Enough time to recover and ski on New Years Day!
Or for something completely different then Evolution 2 have a winter night adventure where you cn explore the snowy scenery and enjoy a traditional Savoyard meal set in the forest in a Mongolian Yourt in Argentiere, at the Grands Montets lift station. Visit the website to reserve a place.
