Chamonix Snow Report: 1st May 2004

featured in Snow report Author Ellie Mahoney, Chamonix Editor Updated

That's it then. Another season over, and another last day on the slopes feeling both sad that it's all come to an end, and excited that spring is here. What a season it has been! The snow has been consistently good all season long, with masses of small snowfalls which kept the pistes in excellent condition, and fewer than usual sunny days to melt it all again. The locals did predict a cold and snowy winter, and for once the general opinion was right.

If you are feeling homesick for the mountains, don't forget that Chamonix is open all year (although is going into hibernation for a couple of weeks now) with a wealth of activities from walking in the National Park to mountain-biking and water-rafting. And if you play golf you may catch us slicing our way around Chamonix's 18 holes.

The website will be updated all summer, with news and events, and even the Snow report is being complimented by the Rock Report. Thanks for your emails and comments over the winter - we've enjoyed hearing from you.

Happy end of season!

The PanoChamCam is now fully operational...we have some great images now available on the site webcams index.

We'll keep you updated - sign up for the Dump Alert! We only let you know about significant falls and you can unsubscribe at any time.
