Cold smoke at Grands Montets
Fresh snow, low temperatures and sunshine
After a significant drop in temperature Wednesday night and 20-30cm of fresh snow, we went up Grands Montets Friday morning for some good old-fashioned powder skiing and we weren't disappointed!
All the pistes and lifts were open, and cold temperatures meant that the snow was light and dry. Piste conditions were similarly excellent. Avalanche risk was 3/5 so some so some care was needed and apart from feeling the crusty old snow a little bit lower on the mountain the resort was in tip-top condition!
The forecast is for cold weather to continue, so while there's no snow on the horizon, the latest dump should keep nicely. Cloud cover will be variable, with a cloudy Saturday and mostly sunny Sunday
